How many calories does an average 6 year old girl need?

I am just curious if I am giving my daughter enough calories.
Calorie requirements for children depend on their gender and activity level, as well as their age. The average six year old girl needs 1200 calories at a sedentary activity level, 1400 calories for moderate activity, and 1600 calories for the most active child. The average six year old boy needs 1400, 1600 and 1800 calories for the same activity levels. The parent's job is to prepare healthy food, provide regular meals and snacks, ban grazing in-between, and make eating times pleasant. Children are responsible for how much food they eat. A well-feed child will grow at a predictable rate. Children should not think about the calories in food.
